Boots question

Recommendations please ladies

My daughter has come home from uni with a nice pair of faux suede boots. They are cosy and warm but they will not be waterproof. I have spray that I use on my suede ones but can I use it on faux suede. I don't want to ruin them as she will kill me.

I would check with a local cobbler to see what they suggest. Safer than risking wrecking them.

They are nice just not very expensive but worth treating them if we can. The young ones don't want footwear that lasts a couple of years  ::)

"Most weather guard products are suitable for leather, suede, and fabrics so I would have thought they should be ok. If you buy in a specialist shoe shop you can ask before you buy." - from yahoo answers

I've got some faux suede boots and they are surprisingly water repellent - much more than real suede. I wouldn't puddle-jump in them of course but they survive wandering around on the school field every lunchtime.
