I was disappointed that, even as Huw Edwards was telling the viewers that Westminster Abbey is now plunged into darkness, he couldn't see what I could - that the Abbey was fully lit
. Also in the Service various areas of candles were blown out in turn, then the lights were switched back on again ……… surely the lights on the Choir Stalls could have remained ………….
Our neighbours opp had lit a 'candle' ……….. it looked peaceful.

They put the lights back on in the cathedral while the choir, etc, processed down the aisle to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, then turned all but the ones high in roof and round the tomb off again, so the lighting was very subdued. I thought it was lovely.

The poppy display was beautiful. Must have taken forever to put together. Very apt I thought.

The poppies look stunning and they are not completed yet. The plan is to have them all in place for Armistice Day in November.

Apparantly there's only about 150,000 of the total 888,000 (and then some) in place - it will look amazing when it's all in place (I'm going to London at the end of September, so I'll definitely be going to see them). I will be buying one of the poppies next week (waiting for pay-day!).
