Is this something you have experienced or a virus??????
« on: November 29, 2013, 06:26:30 PM »

Hi ladies, has anyone else has this.

Start of a headache about 9.30 this morning, had two painkillers and it eased.

1pm it started to come back, another two pill and it eased.

About 4pm started to feel a bit lightheaded and odd, nothing spinning but felt like i could pass out. Also had one bout of diarrhoea (sorry)about same time and very tired.

Passed after about 40 mins, felt reasonably ok since.

Menopause or Virus ???????

Too early to tell. Diarrhoea isn't usually symptom of meno. Some ladies on here suffer with IBS, they might be able to help more. My feeling is viral.  Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks cubagirl, i know there is a lot going around just now and as i work in the hospital it very well could be a viral. If it is not the menopause it is the dreaded winter bugs.  ;)

I have had a huge change in bowel habits since my first missed period. Also I have the other symptoms too. It could be a virus though only time will tell. My eldest daughter is an A & E nurse & they have a d & v bug doing the rounds of the staff at the mo.  It's Christmas play week at school the week after next, if we get through that without the sick bowl it will be a miracle. Its that horrid time of year  :sick02:  Hope you feel better soon xx

Probably hormonal.  I used to have the runs 10 mins before a bleed began, even when a period wasn't due  ::) ......... headaches occasionally too ...... all part of Life's rich pattern  :-\

Sounds like a bit of a bug to me.

We are too inclined to blame everything on meno.

Rest up and I hope you feel better soon.

I think there are lots of bugs around at the minute.

I've just had a dizzy/ sore throat/ headache/ runs episode lasting a couple of weeks.
Felt absolutely kna----ed while it lasted.

Look after yourself and rest, hope you feel better soon.

Good excuse to take it easy. A good night's sleep & hopefully you'll be right as rain tomorrow.

Menopause.  Sudden surge of hormones.  D&V rarely begin with a headache  ;)

CLKD I get a dreadful stomach upset the day my period starts now, just like a virus really bad. Then a day or two in when you have those dreadful cramps that have you floored like labour pains that sets me off again. I did google it & have forgotten the explanation but all very hormonal. It seems it is all multiplied now & what would have been a minor thing is now horrid. It helps to know it is not just you xx

I had pains on the 1st day of my periods which were AWFUL.  No relief at all.  I went on the contraceptive Pill eventually to ease symptoms.

Hi cubagirl, I feel back to normal today, had an early night and slept well.
Hopefully it was a 24 hour thing or just a little blip with the old hormones.
Thanks again everyone for the replies.  :)
