anyone tried a dry fryer ?
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:59:50 PM »

hi all, has anyone tried one of these healthy fryers, the type where you use just a tiny amount of oil ?
I have been wondering about getting one for some time but they are quite expensive and wonder if they are as good as the ads say ?

It's something I would love but I have been reluctant to buy one in case it ends up in the back of the cupboard along with the rest of my good ideas.

Hope someone else has one and then they can tell us if they are any good.

exactly honeybun, i have too many gadgets in the back of the cupboard  ;D
I have been thinking of getting one of these and the prices don't seem to have dropped much so maybe they are good, as you say hopefully someone will come along who has one and tell us  :-\

You might have to be the guinea pig kerrieann  ;D

Looks as though no one has one. Let me know what you decide.

I too was thinking of getting one of these.....If you put 'Dry fryer reviews' into Google and read the reviews,  I think I will go ahead and try one. Most reviews sound very good.....

No it's is an enclosed thing. You can seemingly do chips with as little as one tablespoon of oil. That's not all you can cook though. It rotates inside I think.

Is it the same as an air-fryer? Not sure if this is allowed... http://www.iatemywaythrough.com/2011/05/10_things_ive_cooked_in_the_philips_airfryer/   read it quickly,..
