Re hospital app
« on: October 11, 2013, 10:46:06 AM »

Hello everyone had my hospital appointment yesterday for hysteroscopy and biopsy I am feeling fine - apart from being famished - nothing to eat from 7am and they didn't do op until 3.30pm!

They didn't tell me much, I have got appointment in clinic in 6 weeks

I have large fibroid and polyps (and prolapse)

Do you think they will offer me hysterectomy? - I have got it in  my head i want one - am I being silly?

Still not using Vagifem (despite what doctor says) I still think vagifem aggravated the fibroid!
Got some hyalofemme going to try that

Just a waiting game now I suppose  :-\

What symptoms are you hoping to get rid of by having a hysterectomy anderina and what has prolapsed?

Hoping to get rid of fibroid, bleeding and pain

I would like to re start vagifem without the worry of bleeding and aggravating fibroid

Because I have had no period for over 2 years and relatively mild meno symptoms I couldn't believe it when the bleeding and fibroid started!

Really need the vagifem but everywhere says it does have adverse effect on fibroids

As far as I know its my womb that has prolapsed I have no water work or bowel probs

I'm probably jumping the gun aren't I??

Why would Vagifem affect a fibroid?  Surely the fibroid is higher up than the preparation is applied?

Why didn't you ask at the Hospital before you had the investigation  :-\

Don't know how it would, but it does say Vagifem should be used with caution if there is a history of fibroids in the womb.
It can cause breakthrough bleeding as well.

On my thread for fibroids silverlady posted there was evidence of vagifem affecting fibroids

I just think it was too much of a coincidence that after I started vagifem this fibroid starting playing up!

I have obviously had it for a while but with no symptoms until approx 6 weeks ago (bleeding after over 2 years and pain)

I have had biopsy and I am now waiting for results,
I have a clinic appointment in 5 weeks

Hope things go OK with the results Anderina.

Given that fibroids are oestrogen sensitive, it doesn't seem to make sense to use vagifem for a while.
