In the Daily Mail this morning

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2440183/Dangerous-bacteria-present-compost.html

according to one post they have had warnings in Australia for the last 20 years.

Alarming stuff! surely Garden Centres must know about this and warn their staff as part of Health & Safety.

We have roses in lots of colours all over the garden, it's too wet to cut any for the house and many are too high without a ladder which would sink into the Earth.  Two lovely fox-gloves which the bees love.  I need to buy 2 more plants but can't remember what  ::) so no point going to the Garden Centre until I've made a list.  Pond fish feeding well.  Blackbird singing through the drizzle.

Sweet peas, beans etc. racing up the poles.  Hopefully the slugs will leave them alone so we get peas, beans, flowers   8)

Garden needs putting to bed.  We have lots of roses in bloom, a couple of clematis having a 2nd flurry; one that always has tiny Autumn flowers on attracts insects …… it is a pale lilac colour and a thug! but takes hard pruning every year.  Beans didn't do well due to lack of rain.  I have a hydrangea to move …….. today I took up creeping geranium by the bucket full, it's outstayed it's welcome!

I see bulbs are for sale  :-\  :sigh:

Off to browse catalogues on line.

Bought 4 trays of pansies to do a couple of hanging baskets.
Might buy Tulip bulbs this year.
