The fibromyalgia link with progesterone is caused by a deficiency of progesterone apparently or estrogen dominance so does this mean that the aches and pains may be because the balance is wrong between the two?

I think it's the balance being out of sync. We are bad off HRT but it's nowhere near as perfect as some doctors would have you believe.
My increased pain and sensory weird symptoms are unexplained. The meno consultant says it "can't" be from the HRT. Beg to differ as there's no other explanation.
I assume if you're oestrogen dominant you have definite symptoms ( and aren't a dried out old prune?). Imbalance seems very tricky both to diagnose and treat.

I found that joint pain had increased on utrogestan. I just don't get on well with progesterone so I have given up meantime to see what my quality of life is going to be like.
I wish I could find something that just fitted my needs but that's unrealistic so hence the decision to stop.

I know I will have to stop at some point so here we go.
