Teeth whitening
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:27:55 AM »

Anybody had this done and what method?  Were the results good?

Am thinking of treating myself.  Have just spoken to dental clinic and it's around £500.

PF same price as I was quoted last year, but I hate even having a check up, as soon as he starts putting fingers instruments into my mouth I heave like hell, so not sure I could take the large gum shield thing that's used..  :-\

I did read that this is not a good idea.  If teeth are too white they can drain a person's face of colour and make them look really ill  :o.  Some teeth are 'yellow' for a reason, I think they are stronger teeth?

Is this a quote from your regular Dentist?  At £500.00 it really is a treat!  However, if you do the research and are happy with the outcome and there are no 'dangerous' reasons .......... I am undergoing implant surgery as is DH but this, although seen as cosmetic by the NHS, is actually geared towards saving the remaining teeth: this is running into £thousands all told ..........

My dentist suggested whitening toothpaste, so I've started using that.

Tried various brands without much success.

Yes, it's from my dental surgery.   Some beauty salons advertise teeth whitening but they are operating illegally.  Only dentists are allowed to use chemicals in peoples mouths - understandably!

Groupon have an offer on. I don't know if it's just my area though.

The saving is huge and done by a dentist.
