I have a small insulated bag which is now 25 yrs old, was for carrying baby bottles in when my children were babies.  In it I put a flannel soaked in cold water wrapped around one of those freezer blocks that you use in picnic bags.  Works a treat when out and about in the unbearable heat.  Does remove most of one's make up but who cares?

I got a gift for my 45th birthday, it was a cool flannel, which you put in the freezer and it stayed cold for hours.  It was a bit premature....but would be handy now.  Can't find it anywhere.  Sod's law
