3 weeks post TAH
«

So I'm nearly 3 weeks post TAH.
Pain nearly faded which is great.
However the exhaustion is truly crippling. Yes I know I've had major surgery but I wasn't expecting to feel this drained.
Anyone else have any experience?

changes can be scary, even when we want them

General anaesthetic can be draining. The build up and after effects of surgery can be draining. Little steps .......

Thanks for the reply - maybe I'm just impatient to be 100% again.
You're right, little steps xx

Glad that it is all done Tinks - of course you are feeling exhausted - you have had a major operation. Have you been given HRT to start immediately?
Are you registered on the hysterectomy UK forum - you may get some idea on there of when you will begin to feel better.

I used to feel fine when lying on the sofa but it took several weeks to feel vaguely normal again and suspect even 3 months later i was not at full speed so take it slowly , this is when you discover how awful morning tv is - radio 4 was the saving grace,

Thanks for that too Winterose - it will be 3 weeks tomorrow so I guess I need to. chill out ! I got Sky put in as a treat before the op so have all the cricket to watch ! Even that gets tedious after a while and my concentration hasn't returned yet so reading is hopeless !!
Thanks again.
