Cox re your Dr -
CLKD is right, your Dr needs to qualify why she doesn't like it.
Point out that HRT is also recognised as having definite benefits, bone density and heart, spring to mind.
Quality of life matters.

I am quite overweight and have always been, so this was one reason she mentioned. I also have a history of various dancers in family members - risks of which she said would be increased by taking HRT.

dancers = cancers  :-\

However, that aside - how many of those diseases are hormonally linked?  There should never be a blanket ban  ;) so knowing as much about your family history as possible can give the Dr a base line on which to make the decision.

I have had breast disease but I am now taking an HRT for vaginal atrophy ......... which has worked, as the GP put in my notes on Wed., 'good response to treatment'  ;)

from your phone  :o - I hardly know where my mobile is let alone upload messages to the computer  ;D

You can share your family cancer history in another thread if you think it would help  :-\

Also, making a list to take to the GP can be helpful, so you don't forget to talk about symptoms
