Have a good read through.  It wasn't a condition I knew of nor did I think I would suffer …….. but with treatment I am now symptom free! no irritable bladder, no having to sit on the loo drinking dilute juice/tea, no feeling that my bottom was going to drop out  :o

I know but my symptoms have lessened.  I get a physical 'warning' when I forget  ::) ........ every 3 or 4th morning I lay a pessary on the bed to remind me ..........

But the whole idea of the maintenance dose (ie twice weekly) is to prevent return of symptoms rather than try to cure them if/when they re-appear. It doesn't work like that ie instant relief from symptoms - as I said it's a long term thing. From what I've read, I understand it stimulates an increase in the cells of the vaginal epithelium - which doesn't happen overnight.

It really is important to use them twice a week as recommended and if you lapse - sometimes it is necessary to increase this frequency just to speed things up re the cells and therefore the vaginal tissues....

I have just read this - searching for something else.. I have lapsed with the Gynest - have been using regularly once a week, thinking and missed week also... should I "speed it up" to twice a week again?

HiZoe Zebra
I think I responded to you on your other thread.  It's very, very important you maintain the local oestrogen regime or the problems will return.  Twice a week at least. It may be worth doing a 2 week daily load, as you did when you first started this local oestrogen treatment, just to get things back on track.  DG x

Dancing girl is correct. I have a calendar reminder set up on my phone every three days for my Vagifem dose. This ensures it is spaced evenly and delivered consistently. Any less frequently than this can trigger 'symptoms' in my experience.

Morwenna......being a little dumb her so every three days, what days do you use it on as I do Thursday and Sunday and the gap from Sunday to Thirsday seems to long.

Thanks DG and Morwenna - yes Maryjane - I used to use it Sunday and Wednesday, then I just started using it Mondays, thinking the less I was using it the better.  Should I keep using it twice a week then?

If you schedule it for the same days each week eg Thursday and Monday (as I used to do) then this doesn't deliver a consistent dose - I actually set up a reminder on my phone for every third day so the space in between doses is the same length of time - this means I use it on Saturday, Tuesday, Friday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday and then back to Saturday and so on.

I agree the gap between Sunday and Thursday is too long Maryjane.

I tick the usage on the calendar and tend to go by symptoms now - sometimes leaving 4/5 days between …….
