Mammogram shows no signs of cancer
GP didn't think that not using the 'ovestin' would trigger breast tenderness, what would she know  >:(.  Appt to see her next week and physio for the back the day after  ::)

This is wonderful news. I had been following your thread but had nothing to add as I have no experience. I am glad all is okay. :)

Tnx.  Still need to see the GP about the breast tenderness etc..

She won't know whether stopping the 'ovestin' since Sept is likely to be the cause of that though  :-\

Hi CLKD

Very pleased to hear your mammogram result was fine.  It must be a great relief.  I have only just seen this thread and have read the last few pages.  Can I ask why you stopped using the ovestin in September?  I thought you had to continue with it for life?

Hi!  Many do need treatment for ever.  However: I don't have symptoms, in face since mid-last year I required less and less with no recurrence. So I stopped in September and the symptoms of sore, nippy breast began in mid-October.  MayB too much of a co-incidence  :-\.  Because the breast is the side that underwent surgery in the 1990s, the GP is going to have a lookC - I don't suppose she will consider that my ovaries may be active enough so that I don't need the 'ovestin'.   It has worked really well for several years, internally and on the outer labia when necessary.

I know my symptoms of VA so if I get a niggle, will do a reload.

Thanks for answering CLKD.  That’s interesting.  I had just assumed I would carry on for life and had never anticipated I might get to the stage where I might not need treatment.  As you say, you can always start it again if required.

This thread certainly proves what a nightmare VA can be!
Right now I am suffering a flare up, I can only put this down to the very humid conditions we are having in London.
Anyone else suffering a flare up?

Yep.  Humidity being blamed. I've upped my regime.  (ovestin)

I suppose the good thing about flare ups is I have come to recognise the warning signs, it starts off with a twinge turning into a dull pain in the left part of my groin and that’s when I use more Ovestin and plenty of moisturiser.
I don’t need to use an extra Vagifem pessary as the Ovestin is doing a great job applied locally.
Interestingly I am not getting intense burning like I used to and this is due to the fact the regime I am on is working, the flare ups not being too distressing as they used to be.
