Thank you for useful suggestion, ladies - I hadn't thought of leaflet dropping, good exercise. My office work days are possibly well and truly a thing of the past. Any work has to fit in with frequent visits to my elderly (grieving) dad who lives c.2 hour drive away. I've recently applied to Aldi.
A couple of friends do care work - I know this sounds wimpy but I'm just not cut out for it - they tell me stories that I find so upsetting, however they seem to take it in their stride.
So true - re: getting meno taken seriously as it affects different women in different ways.
In my circle of friends, I am the only one who has had a hideous meno (since 44), they find it hard to believe what I describe, and the chronic 3 day migraines too. Can't help wondering what percentage of women just sail through it. Around in daily life I see (older than myself) working, vibrant, active elderly ladies in shops, surgeries, hospitals etc etc and wonder, how do they do it. Guess they just keep on doing it, being active, once you stop and drop out of the loop, it's so much harder. Makes me feel so inadequate / ashamed !
Does anybody do care work - personal assistant rather than personal care, ie. shopping, taking clients to hospital appointments etc.
