I think I'm probably the other way round, Silverlady, but I think they're both great countries.  Do you speak Italian?  I take my hat off to anyone who does.   I can say "spaghetti" and "allegro" but I don't think that would get me by in Italy!   ::)

I went to night school for three years and was a member of the Círculo Italiano for 10 years where I met OH.

I have have Italian 1 and Italian 2 Certificates, OH speaks it far better then me and it was only when I went to Italy for eight weeks that it all came together for me..

My grandmother was Italian so the first time I set foot in Italy I felt I had come home.

We do get good service in Italian restaurants as OH likes to practice his Italian :D

My brother loves France goes over there regularly and is planning to retire there.

That's fascinating, Silverlady.  I'm always interested to hear about people's international backgrounds.

CLKD - recipes included in the book?  Mmmm!!   What's the book called?

Good old GOOGLE maps, I've had a look see at Louviers, the village where the book is based and Susan still runs cookery schools …….. it's nearly 3 hours drive from Calais so will suggest that it might be our first trip in the camper as he does want to have a 'trial run'  ::) ……. will need to look for camp sites  :-X

Looking good CLKD, 3 hours from Calais looks do-able
