Our town is full of camper vans from all over the world. We were stuck behind a convoy of 6 of them yesterday and they were all from Belgium. They were beautiful and all had bikes on the back.

In our last house which was on the sea front we used to get them parked up opposite the house. It was funny watching them pottering about in their jammies in the morning.

The freedom must be great. Just stick a pin in the map and off you go.

Not as much freedom as one would think - the World, his Wife and Dog are out there too  ;D ...... so booking is, these days in the UK, essential.  We do have aircond..  But I can't be out and about in such heat so going anywhere would be a waste - we like to up and doing when we visit somewhere.

Going to see Mum in the morning  :-X - not in the camper this time.  Be back Friday  ???

You need to head for the coast in the hot weather CLKD - the sea breeze makes a lot of difference.

The world and his wife are most definitely not up our coast line.
It all depends on where you go. There will be the big tourist destinations and then the miles and miles of empty coast line and the peace that it brings.

I think you are still trying to get used to your new van CLKD and are not ready for adventures as yet.

Hope you get used to it and get to enjoy it soon.

We are using it but not for over-nighters - yet.  Too many other issues in our Life  :( ..... back from a visit with Mum, then we have baby sitting commitments and someone wants to do supper as a 'thank you' for something we did: but it isn't really necessary but you know how it is  ;) - so 3 evenings next week are taken up already ............. then our garden is keeping us busy.

We have on the list though: Brighton, West Wales, Paisley, Castleton ...........  :whist:

PAISLEY

Please don't.....think of tumbleweed blowing down the high street and gun crime. It's one of the places you drive through and keep on going.

;D  I have a friend of my late Father's living there - who I haven't seen since the early 1990s.  I want to see him again before he dies and as he was a great 'van' holiday maker and is SO pleased we have, at last, purchased our own  ;) ...........

Oh well.

You need to watch where you park your van or it could become static....ie no wheels.  ;D

My reaction was the same as honeybun!!!
But you are pretty close to Loch Lomond and the trosachs, both worth a visit....and Glasgow, but yes, watch where you park!!!

We were in Paisley yesterday for a funeral. It sure hasn't changed. Take care parking though.  Some bits of Paisley area are ok though. I used to stay on outskirts, between Paisley & Glasgow, it was fine, but hated going into Paisley itself. Loch Lomond, Trossachs both beautiful and well worth a visit.

I can park on my friend's drive: where he parked his 'van for years.  We already 'know' how beautiful that area is: we always say, get to Glasgow, turn left and onwards: into the beautiful scenery  :-*
