Gak in throat meno related?!
« on: April 04, 2020, 05:15:39 PM »

Will it help banish the gak in my throat which feels like phlegm all the time pretty well.  One doctor gave me a nasal spray at xmas, another a thought was reflux and gave me anti reflux pills.  However, did a bit of research yesterday and seems it could be meno related...anyone have any experience of this?

Yep.

20 months ago I had a cold which developed into a continual cough, night and day. Hacking.  Non productive.  No temp.  Annoying.

It altered slightly and apparently reflux can cause a cough.  I am continually clearing my throat of a glob feeling, eased with appropriate medication - Omeprazalole I think it's spelt.  It has certainly helped me.

I get this kind of thing.... post nasal drip. I find anti-histamines help, so I think it's allergies/peri-meno related.

Yes, got oma stuff and a blue nasal spray.  Oma stuff helped a bit as was feeling tight chested with it in evening...but inhaler didn't halp.  It's embarasseing, particularly given life at the present...sometimes when I'm coughing when I go out for a run I feel I have to explinan..normal cough for me! And yes...I do cough into my elbow  :)

I hardly dare sneeze or cough these days  ;D but I have allergic rhinitis so it is common for me  ::)
