vagifem realy helped my frequent trips to the loo, especially during the night. Now have another problem went swimming and really seems to have buggered up all the benefits from vagifem. (Have been on vagifem since feb). Does anyone else notice this? i have been recommended to swim because I have a shoulder injury otherwise I can live without swimming.

Well I referred myself, Eddie - I have been doing the exercises and wanted to check if I was doing things right.  so booked a private appt, couldn't face another trip and conversation with the gp.

And sorry don't know about the swimming, BL, could it be the chlorine that you're reacting to?   I'm presuming that you're feeling sore again?

Viv, I found that from about day 12 of 14 that i did get a discharge, just white though. I also still feel really pudgy inside, and a bit tendet when inserting the applicator, also outside i feel a bit rough, like my underwear is rubbing away. I'm sure it will improve. Eddie. x

Vagifem worked for me a treat
Stopped weweing almost first day
I have off days still but its nothing like it was in fact its hard to remember how bad it was
Except I keep a diary and I look back I still get scared to go for a wee even now
It became an obsession with me and I d see how long I could hold it in NOT A GOOD THING
Hope this helps

Hi Pammie

Welcome to the forum  :welcomemm:
I use Ovestin cream rather than vagifem but your post has made me realise that I no longer check out toilet facilities wherever I go! On outings or day trips the first thing I used to do was check out where the loos were but now I hardly ever need to use them. I still get up once a night but that's no problem at all.

I hope the Vagifem sorts you out.

Are we meant to keep count - I have no idea how many times.. now let me think.... twice I reckon. Mind you when I am working (school hols at the minute) I go when I leave the house at 8 and then often don't go again till I get back at 4.30. Must drink more  :drunk:

I get a white watery  type of disharge the day after I put the Vagifem in that continues all the time now but its only light
I use mine Sunday and Thursday disharge I asked GP he said Vagifem
I think its trying to get the old ladies dish working again
Cos it is a lubricant for me anyway I dont need Lube of any kind
The Vagifem is enough for me to do all and anything hehehehe
Its odd though Taz my right labias stopped shrinking and my right side of my hood
But the left side has almost shrunk to nothing and the left side of the hoods smaller than the right
IF I ever get any soreness now down there its always the left side
I have a Theory that my right ovary must still be sending out some hormones the left abso nothing
It does look funny though one labia viasable the other minute :-*
I too kept and still count on how many times a day I go I cant seem to stop OCD

If its been bad some GPs say to use it every day for 3 weeks mine did
I then went for another 2 weeks every second night
Im down to Sunday and Thursday
But if I get a really iffy weird day which I have had a few times
They usually are days when my openings soreish stingy feeling no pain though and need to wee wee a bit more and its warmish
Then I put one in I dont stress over it
The fuller explanation on Vagifem says it can take up to 6 months to feel really good
I felt better almost asap but I didnt take a chance even so I still get the odd day but nothing like it used to be
I also now have got the HOT FLUSHES BACK plus the PMT Jangly nerves and moody bum days
Thats all though as I havent had a period since 1994
I started Vagifem Valentines day this year and boy was it a present heheheheh :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Follow the leaflet if it says 2 weeks then do it 2 weeks
Unless the Gp said only 1 week
The 2 times a week are really 2 times in 7 days I chose Thursday and Sunday
Thursday cos could make love Fri Sat or Sun then Sunday as Im usually dry as by then heheheheh
Cant you ring the Gp and say the leaflet says every night for 2 weeks he maybe wasnt up to the moment on it?
Why wait till the 18 thats 2 weeks tomorrow dont suffer :-*

Good on you Pam  :)

Stick to your guns! I don't understand the whole mental blockage that some docs have about HRT of any kind. You can also ask to be referred to a meno clinic if you'd prefer that. If you click on the "find a specialist" info bar at the top of the page you should find something near to your area.

Would love to see your female doc just putting up with these problems in her own "bits"  ::)

Best of luck, Pammie.
Do sympathise as my doctor did prescribe me Vagifem (not her suggestion, I found out about it from here!) but still insists I should have a month's break every 3 months even though the advice has now changed.   I have tried arguing and taking the print out off this site but to no avail so far :(   Very frustrating >:(

Yes, it definitely does make you more prone to cystitis and infection as the dry skin can become fragile and easily irritated or damaged by sex or acidic urine etc....

Cranberry juice unfortunately upsets my bladder big time, but I drink plenty of water and have dried cranberries instead. A tip - use plenty of lubricant at intimate moments....
What intimate moments  :'(  Have an atrophic vagina (lucky me) and am on my second round of Vagifem.  It worked the first time and hubby and I were thrilled :-* but it is very expensive and not on any insurance here in BC. I tried to use less and OMG, bad move !  Anyway, am post-menopausal and weight gain and THIS seem to be my major problems, oh, and mood swings and facial hair AND......So I will continue with the Vagifem and see what happens as I will not try anything else. Too chicken ! Anyone else try the Premarin Cream and the Provera pill?  I was told you could just put a dot on your fingertips and that would help but then where do you put your fingers? It's all good ladies  :tulips2:
