Hi Lizzog
I have been experiencing hip pain since February, probably exacerbated at the time by overdoing aerobic exercise in a bid to help me lose weight.
The pain I had was on my right hip running down the outside of the thigh. The pain was dull and constant, then occasionally I would get a sudden pain like an electric shock in hip/thigh area. The pain was also occasionally in the front of my thigh. I couldn't walk for any distance or I would get lower back pain.
Upshot is, I finally started physio around a month ago, was given stretching exercises which hurt like hell to do at first. After 2 weeks I was given exercises to stretch my back and front of thigh. I cannot believe the difference in only a few weeks after suffering for months. Physio said that she though it was coming from my lumbar region. The first exercises were to stretch out a nerve root problem, this then moves to the lower back area and then the back stretches relieve the lower back pain.
I am only just post meno (if you don't count the blip a couple of months back), my GP reckoned the lack of oestrogen could be the cause.
I am not on any medication and don't yet have many meno symptoms.
I really hope that physio helps you, I was sure that it wouldn't work, but I am so so glad that I went.
I really hope t
